PHILIPPINE TOURISM AUTHORITY

A corporate entity attached to the Department of Tourism, the Philippine Tourism Authority (PTA) plays a unique role in the promotion and development of the country's tourism industry.

With 7,107 islands, the Philippines teems with potential tourist destinations. Across our islands lie pristine white beaches, warm and clear dive sites, scenic seascapes, challenging surf sites, beautiful mountains, magnificent waterfalls, hot and cold springs, and all kinds of natural jewels in a tropical setting. At the PTA it is our task to enable the private sector to harness these resources, and to pioneer tourism development in strategic areas whenever necessary.

We are putting in place basic infrastructure, facilities, and utilities to open windows of opportunities for tourism related investments, particularly in the tourism super region. Our strategic objective, which is an integral component of President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo's long term agenda, is to fully maximize nature's gifts, to enhance and preserve them, in order to strengthen and sustain our tourism industry.
