ESPINA has consistently developed industry and career-based learning modules acquired from her linkages in the US and Asia. A graduate of Maryknoll College, University of Santo Tomas and University of San Carlos, she specializes in communication arts, language teaching, education, literature, theater and public speaking. She was a grantee, International Visitors Program of the United States , and took up special programs in East West Center ( Honolulu),Harvard University; University of Southern California; University of California (LA/Berkeley); Boston Institute of Languages; City University of New York; and Texas University. Dr. Espina, former dean, arts and sciences and presently graduate school professor , University of San Jose-Recoletos, had been a speaker in seminars and folkfests in the East Asia Forum, Hawaii, Korea, Indonesia, China, Singapore, Thailand, Russia, Las Vegas; San Jose, San Francisco/LA/Salinas/Utah, USA, among others.
SPEECHCOM CLASSES are held on one-on-one, or small group sessions and courses are based on the specific needs and skills of the students determined by a diagnostic exercise. IN-PLANT sessions are held in the venue of the company requesting for the training, courses of which are determined by the vision and resources of the company.
All learning modules incorporate the basic features of the ENGLISH FOR SPECIAL PURPOSES; TEACHING ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE; ENGLISH FOR FOREIGN STUDENTS; ENGLISH LANGUAGE TEACHING. Teaching techniques are interactive and experiential and instructional materials include audio-visual aids; exercises; case studies; various books and manuscripts. REGULAR SESSIONS
1. BASIC ENGLISH PROFICIENCY ( BEP) - Capability building in listening, speaking and reading skills and comprehension; articulation and voice power. The course incorporates common errors in grammar and sessions in Conversational English. This program is designed in various levels. 2. PUBLIC SPEAKING-( PERCOM) Confidence building in presence, poise and persuasiveness in various situations: rhetorics, emcee-ing; of interviewing; product presentation ; speech delivery and speech writing. 3. CONVERSATIONAL ENGLISH ( CEL)-A practical course in grammar and composition; common English usage, with interactive exercises. 4. PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT ( PERD)- Creative sessions on social graces; confidence building ; decorum in social and business functions; table etiquette; proper grooming; and work values and professional ethics. 5. BUSINESS COMMUNICATION ( BISCOM)- New trends in business usage and writing; types of business correspondence ( circulars ;memos; email, application letters, etc); report writing and research; project proposal;telephone usage; tele-marketing and preparation for agenda/minutes of meetings. 6.
