SUMILON ISLAND

Sumilon Bluewater Resort is a sister resort of the popular Maribago Bluewater Resort in Mactan Cebu. It is a beautiful secluded island located just off the south-eastern tip of mainland Cebu.

Sumilon Island has several white sand beaches, a lagoon, a hiking trail with sweeping panoramic views, a lighthouse, historical watchtower (baluarte), cave and other resort facilities including swimming pools that overlook the island of Cebu.

Sumilon Resort can be reached by car, a three hour drive from Cebu City to Bancogon pier in Oslob town and from there, a 15-30 minute boat ride to the island. The boat ride is provided by the resort.

There is a comfortable parking and waiting area in the Bancogon pier area, which is owned by the resort. There is a steep incline from the highway to the waiting area so make sure your car is in good condition.

The drive to Oslob town is a pleasant scenic one along the south coastal road. The road is relatively smooth all the way. From Cebu City, you will pass through the cities/towns of Talisay, Minglanilla, Naga, San Fernando, Carcar, Sibonga, Argao, Dalaguete, Alcoy and Boljoon before reaching Oslob town at the southern tip of Cebu Island.

If you do not have a private car, there are Ceres buses plying the southern route which can take you to Bancogon pier (Oslob). You may also avail of private roundtrip transfers via car or van (see rates below).

If you do not wish to stay overnight at Sumilon, a day tour from Cebu City is possible. Be sure to go early to be able to enjoy the island's different activities.
