Locally owned Keymart was established in 1984 in Mandaue, Cebu province. It began as a supplier of fashion accessories to local retail stores, and started exporting its products one year later. Fashion jewelry accounts for 60 percent of production. The majority of output is shipped to wholesalers in France, Japan and the US. Aside from fashion jewelry and accessories, the company also offers ladies handbags and tabletops such as placemats and napkin rings. Keymart extensively uses indigenous materials in its designs. Leaves, cornhusk, shell, carabao horn, bones and bamboo are mixed with resin, plastic and metal to create classic and contemporary pieces that suit both adult and teenage consumers. Production is 100 percent subcontracted. The company has around 50 subcontractors that it has been working with for the past 20 years. Keymart Philippines regularly joins trade shows in Hongkong. It is a member of Cebu-FAME and Cebu-Gifts, Toys and Housewares Manufacturers and Exporters Association.
