(STI) was formally opened to serve the public on february 15, 1996, although it was incorporated towards the end of August 1995. It is located along M.J. Cuenco Ave., Mabolo, Cebu City. It started as the distributor of indonesian made GAJAH TUNGGAL TIRES, which is ISO 9002 certified. Not only does STI sells tires, but also distributes lubricants and automotive batteries, e.g. Outlast, Motolite and Incoe. Its services include tire mounting, computerized wheel balancing and change oil. Tires come in varied categories which include Passenger car radials, high performance redials, light, medium and heavy commercial bias & radial truck tires, agricultural tires, industrial tires, and off the road tires. Inner tubes and flaps are also allied product lines. In line with its expansion program, a branch in Bohol called Speedy Tires, Bohol was established on may 1997. A year after, in early 1998, it opened another sister company, Macro Tires-Goodyear Servitek, which distributes quality GOODYEAR TIRES. It also offers complete vehicle services like computerized wheel alignment, carbon clean, engine tune-up, under chassis repair, among others. It boasts of professionally trained staff to service its vast clientele. It is located on front of the SM City, Cebu parking lot. In the later part of 1999, when Yokohama Tire Phils. was screening for a distributor for its locally produced and imported YOKOHAMA TIRES, it appointed Speedy Tires to handle the sole distribution for the areas of Cebu and Bohol. Furthermore, Speedy Tires also distributes China made tire for those budget consious customers. Early in the year 2005, BP (British Petroleum) Philippines appointed Speedy Tires, Inc. to distribute the commercial line of BP and Castrol lubricants, which includes the pail and drum packaging. Speedy tires' clientele include tire dealers in cebu and other parts of the Visayas region, corporate fleet accounts, gasoline stations, end users like transport companies (bus, taxi, jeepney operators), truck and car assemblers, construction and hauling companies and other big companies. STI also serves the tire requirements of the government, which includes the Cebu Province, Cebu City & other Municipalities and government agencies. And last but not the least, it also seves its retail consumers who can relax in the cozy customers lounge in the tire outlet while waiting for their services to be rendered. Management of Speedy Tires is ably handled by Ms. Judy Go, a CPA and a Summa Cum Laude Graduate of University of San Carlos-Cebu. A marketing oriented person, she is the managing director since the start of its operations until today. Her husband, Mr. Robert Go, is the President of STI. He is also the Chief Executive Officer of the Prince Warehouse Club chain of stores in Cebu. He is currently the Governor of Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry-Region VII. To date, Speedy Tires is proud to be one of the top tire distributors in Cebu, holding the distribution of the major tire brands in the market now namely: gadja Tunggal, Goodyear, Yokohama and Emtrac tires. Quality and efficient service to customers has always been the thrust of the company.
