I. DIVESHOP DIVING EQUIPMENT The Blue Abyss Dive Shop is fully equipped with modern, well-maintained rental equipment from top class manufacturers. All our regulators are equipped with pressure gauge, depth gauge and an octopus/alternate air source to assure your safety. BCD's you will find in all sizes as well as 3mm wetsuits. We use 12 -liter aluminum tanks with international valves; if your regulator has a DIN fitting you should bring an international adapter. If you don’t have your own equipment yet, we offer very good second hand equipment like BCD’s and regulators. Brand new gear like mask, snorkel and different assets you find for sale as well. THE SWIMMING POOL The swimming pool is placed in a tropical garden and just a footstep away from the dive shop. This little extra offers especially for our beginners a safe and controlled environment to enjoy their first underwater breath. For all our Open Water Courses, the swimming pool will be used to slowly introduce you to the new, wet environment. Also for those of you who never tried scuba diving, the swimming pool gives you the opportunity to get a first introduction to scuba diving and its fascination. SAFETY Safety is top priority in all our diving activities. The Instructors and Dive masters of Blue Abyss Dive Shop are certified and trained by well-recognized diving associations. There is an oxygen unit and a first Aid kit on board as well as in the dive shop. The next decompression chamber is in Cebu City and evacuation can be done in an efficient manner. Also a first aid unit is placed on the boat to be able to give immediate help in case of an emergency. The next decompression chamber is in Cebu and evacuation can be done in a very efficent manner. THE BOAT Blue Abyss Dive Shop is owner of a 12m Banca boat. A Banca is a traditional -style Filipino boat with bamboo outriggers and an inboard engine. There is a small cabin that will accommodate our divers in rough weather and a large awning provides shade on (the far more common) sunny days. ENTERTAINMENT VIDEO/FOTO Klemens Gann offers you personal underwater videos. A DVD with the best scenes of Moalboal’s marine life is prepared and he will add your personal footage taken on your dive and integrate it. So you get your personal video as well as Moalboal’s best underwater scenes. Other DVD’s from Moalboal and the surrounding dive sites are available. Klemens won the 1st prize in the user voting 2006 from a leading German diving magazine. He received the “golden sea star” for the best short movie. If you have your own video camera you can use our TV in the dive shop to view your movies. If you make digital pictures you can use our computer to burn your pictures on CD, or just use it to see your images on a bigger Screen. THE LIBRARY The Dive shop offers an impressive variety on literature about marine life. You will be able to identify most of the species that you have observed on your dive. Our Dive masters and instructors are very knowledgeable about all the species on our dive sites, and help you with the identification. Also books about the physiology of diving are available.
